Dance like no one is watching, Blog like no one is reading

A NEW START :)

Today was my first day at the new job, I’m no longer a Pharmacy Technician, I’m starting over in a different field, the IT field.

To tell the truth, I was extremely scared, I haven’t been working with computer for more than 3 years, to be more specific, I haven’t been working with computers since I graduated, I guess that gives me all the right to panic!!

But thank god, things today went OK, once I walked in, everybody was super busy and nobody explained anything to me for the first 2 hours, I was FREAKING OUT, what the heck I’m suppose to do, I mean my new boss explained to me that I’m gonna go through a week or so of training, but my “teacher” was doing things around me EXTREMELY FAST, I started to ask myself, am I dumb or is he trying to make me think that I am??? I mean I know I’m not stupid, but he was clicking the buttons in away that I didn’t get the chance to read what he was clicking, give me a break what are you trying to prove?? DUH!!!!!

So what did I do, I just smiled at him and asked him about the documentation they keep for the system, and his first respond was, NOOOOOO 🙂 the documentation is too complicated for you now, what did I do, I went to my desk trying to read the documentation they have, until another guy showed up, I asked him if I can set quietly just to watch what he does to get myself familiar with things around here, the guy was so nice and started explaining things while he is doing it, I felt SOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH BETTER!!! HEHEHE I’m not stupid, the other dude was trying to freak me out for absolutely no reason.. some people are really something!!

So all in all, my first day was OK 🙂 , I’m gonna have to study hard for the next few days, but that’s fine, I don’t mind at all, as long as I don’t feel dumb 😀

I’m so excited, I love my new job, everything is hard at first, bs I promise I’m gonna do my best.

P.S: Battah… thank you VERY MUCH for being there for me today and for supporting me, I don’t know what would’ve happened without you!! I love you 🙂

Good Luck With THAT!

“Luck? I don’t know anything about luck. I’ve never banked on it, and I’m afraid of people who do. Luck to me is something else: Hard work – and realizing what is opportunity and what isn’t.” ~ Lucille Ball

My friends and I have a little pet phrase we say when one or the other of us doing something a little crazy or expecting some dramatic result. We say, sarcastically and with eyebrows raised, “Good luck with that.” Luck doesn’t exist. Sure, you can be in the “right place” at the “right time” but opportunity isn’t going to knock unless you are expecting it to show up. Working hard towards a goal is the fastest way to invite opportunity into your life. Sitting on your duff and expecting life to hand something over to you is absurd. Work hard, work often and opportunity will come.

I believe it was Thomas Edison who explained “Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.” Boy was he right. And so is Lucille when she tells us we must realize what opportunity is and what isn’t. So many options are available to us today that it is often difficult to determine the good from the bad. So many rabbit trails, so little time… This is where goal setting comes in to play. Knowing what you want, who you want to be and where you want to be can help you filter out the distractions that turn out to be rabbit trails. (Rabbit trails are bad. Remember Alice in Wonderland? She followed the little white rabbit and look what happened to her.) You have to look for and recognize the gritty overalls – those are your true opportunities.

To all the nice guys left

To every guy that’s said, “You’re beautiful.”
To every guy that was never too busy to drive across town (or across the state) to see her.
To every guy that gives flowers and a card when she is sick.
To every guy who has given her flowers just because.
To every guy that said he would die for her.
To every guy that really would.
To every guy that did what she wanted to do.
To every guy that cried in front of her.
To every guy that she cried in front of.
To every guy that holds hands with her.
To every guy that kisses her with meaning.
To every guy that hugs her when she’s sad.
To every guy that hugs her for no reason at all.
To every guy who would give their jacket up for her.
To every guy that calls to make sure she got home safe.
To every guy that would sit and wait for her for hours just to see her for ten minutes
To every guy that would give his seat up.
To every guy that reassured her that she was beautiful no matter what.
To every guy who told his secrets to her.
To every guy that tried to show how much he cared through every word and every breath.
To every guy that thought maybe this could be the one.
To every guy that believed in her dreams.
To every guy that would have done anything so she could achieve them.
To every guy that never laughed at her when she told him her dreams.
To every guy that walked her to her car.
To every guy that gave his heart.
To every guy who prays that she is happy even if you are not with her.

…This is for you…

Not many girls appreciate nice guys anymore… And because of this, there are not many left out there…

That’s all from where I sit.

Stop saying “I WISH”…

Besides the word “can’t,” there are two other words that I just don’t like.  The words “I wish”.  To me, the words “I wish” are equivalent to the words “I can’t”.  It drives me nuts when people sit around and say “I wish this would happen” or “I wish I could do this…”  I literally scratch my head and think why aren’t they making that happen?  If you find yourself saying “I wish” then something in your world isn’t quite they way you want it to be.  Change it.  And don’t tell me you “can’t”.

SIT STILL????

Have you ever tried to sit completely still? Sounds easy, doesn’t it? Just grab the remote and sit in front of the TV. Haven’t we all done that at one time or another? Nothing wrong with that. We all need a break now and then. Now flip to the end of the spectrum…ever had moments where you can’t sit still? Happens to me all the time. I can’t just sit and not do anything. It’s hard! Even if my physical body isn’t moving, my mind is going 90 miles an hour and I’m probably thinking about all the things I could be doing if I weren’t just sitting there.

The worst case scenario for me is to be stuck someplace where I have to just sit and be attentive – ugh! If I am not interested or I can’t participate, at least grant me permission to get lost in my own thoughts. That is an adventure in itself.Today’s chance words of wisdom come from Annie Oakley, who claims:

“For me, sitting still is harder than any kind of work.”

Oh, I can so relate! I would much rather have my nose to the grindstone and feel that I am moving forward with my goals, than to be stuck in an unproductive situation.  While it may sound like I’m on the fast track to workaholics anonymous, let me explain a little trend that I’ve noticed.

A few months ago I started making mental notes about how my time was being spent and how productive I was.  I was also trying to track my sleeping patterns to see if I needed more or less sleep to function.  I won’t bore you with the details of my research, but jump right to the conclusion.  On the days I felt I the productivity pendulum in full swing, I discovered I needed less sleep to recharge.   The sluggish days where I slacked off seemed to wear me out and I found myself wanting more sleep.  Sounds crazy, but it’s true!

Now I didn’t just make this little theory up.  It’s actually embedded in psychological fact somewhere and I’m sure it has a fancy name to boot.  The bottom line is that achieving your goals releases energy and pushes you to want to achieve more and more.
