A Fatal Tale

‘What are you doing?’ asked the cat.

‘I’m hiding,’ said the partially blind mouse.

‘What are you hiding from?’ inquired the cat.

‘Cats’ whispered the mouse.

‘But I’m a cat,’ purred the cat.

‘DAMN !’ yelped the mouse.

‘It’s okay,’ smiled the cat, ‘I’m not very hungry at the moment’

But it was too late – the partially blind mouse, presuming the worst, had thrown himself from the tree and was now lying dead on the pavement below.

IF IT’S LOOSE, DON’T LOSE IT…

Lots of things irritate me, on account of how I am easily irritated. Most of all, I am irritated by stupidity, especially stupidity caused by lack of attention to obvious detail.

No more is this demonstrated than in my total aversion to the misuse of words and one thing that really drives me insane is the inability to differentiate between “lose” and “loose”. Why do so many people get these confused? It should be obvious from the pronunciation alone what they both mean, yet so many people insist that they are going to, for example, “loose their mind” … what does that mean exactly, that they are going to send it on some sort of rampage?

Let’s get this straight once and for all. When the word “loose” is pronounced, it has an “s” sound; when the word “lose” is pronounced, it has a “z” sound. If that simple difference is borne in mind, there should be no margin for error and no excuse for it. To make it even clearer, “loose” is the opposite of “tight” and “lose” is the opposite of “win”. So, if you say “I know I am going to loose the game”, what you are really saying is “I know I am not going to tight the game”, which makes no sense whatsoever. It also makes you sound like a complete idiot.

Oh and while we’re at it, the words “to” and “too” are pronounced differently, too (not to). So, you would “go to work, too” (light “u” sound followed by heavy “oo” sound), you would not “go too work, to”, although you might “go to work to work”.

Why should you have a GUY as a best friend..

During my life I’ve been the one known to hang out with guys more than girls, not because I grew up between 3 of them, and that had nothing to do with me being e tom boy (I’m not, don’t you dare say I am!!), girls, I love you so much, and I really enjoy hanging out with you, it’s so much fun, but I believe that guys can be better friends (although I can remember some cases where they were not) for very simple reasons

Updated

  1.  He would never steal the guy you like from you!!!

  2. A guy will keep your secret (although I can remember some exceptions).
  3. if you are going out together, and you are picking him up, you don’t’ have to wait 3 hours on the car waiting for him to get ready.
  4. When you ask him to do something, he does it!! And he does it right.
  5. He doesn’t gossip about other girls (unless he is gay).
  6. You don’t have to take the crap from him just because he is freakin PMSing!!
  7. he doesn’t cry like a baby when ever you face him about something you don’t like about him, or tell him that he did something wrong.
  8. If you have him as a project partner, you know that he will do his part completely, you don’t have to worry that you have to finish his part later just because he didn’t feel like it, or he was “busy” shopping.
  9. You don’t have to spend DAAAYS with him in the mall trying to pick a shirt to wear on a friend’s birthday.
  10. When you are carrying something heavy.. he is there 😀 .
  11. If you are not interested in what he is saying, all what you have to do is just say so, and he will stop immediately.
  12. When it comes to other guys (and I mean by that a guy you like), you can ask him, he is the best to help in these situations 🙂 .. and he will tell you what you never thought of.
  13. He can hook you up with his friends 😉 .
  14. He is a batter study buddy, you won’t waste your time on talking about stupid stuff, and end up getting a C.
  15. he is ok with you telling him that certain clothes doesn’t look good on him, there is no way he will think that you are saying so just because you are jealous of him.
  16. You can call for directions when you are lost, just describe 1 or 2 building, and he will locate you where ever you are.
  17. In genera,l they are betters drivers.
  18. He can change tires.
  19. You can sit with him for hours not talking, and he would be totally fine with it.
  20. He wouldn’t get offended because you forget his birthday.
  21. He wouldn’t freak out because he broke a heal, or chopped a nail.
  22. He doesn’t ask you every 2 minutes to check his hair.
  23. When you go out to eat, he wouldn’t keep nagging about his diet, and how he is being careful about what he eats, or worse… order SALAD till you lose you appetite to eat.
  24. There is a bug on the floor!!! No problem, don’t freak out, he’ll kill it
  25. Late night order.. you got it right, he is the one to call 🙂

The list will go on and on and on….  So if you have any updates, you are more than welcome to share it, this list is constantly updating 🙂

You are a better Muslim than me

Yesterday as I was invited my friend’s birthday party, it was one amazing party with all means, and I had the chance to meet one of the most amazing characters ever.

Kadeeja, a 21 years old girl who recently converted to Islam, not because she was married to a muslin guy, not because somebody asked her to, she did because she WANTS to.

She was carious what is Islam all about, she started reading books, and little by little, she started to get more and more interested every day, so she started asking questions, she went to the mosque few times to talk to somebody and to find answers, and el hamdolla she did.

2 years ago Khadeeja found the answers she is looking for, and decided that she wants to be a Muslim, for all of the good things she found out about Islam, starting with how Islam treats women, to how does it help to deal with our daily life.

She was so excited that Ramadan is coming soon; she was looking forward to fast and get more Hasanat, she explained to me how everybody started treating her differently since she started wearing Hijab, and she kept repeating (و من ترك لأجلي أعطيته فوق المزيد), I was extremely amazed by her mashalla.

You can’t imagine how interesting our conversation went, 3 hours passed and I didn’t even notice, we talked about almost everything, I even invited her over to our house, YAAAAAAAAAAY I made a new friend… a great one 😀

Heart in the night. . .

I hear the faint sounds of music, and it plays upon my mind like a soft whisper of a memory, a feeling, an emotion once felt so strongly it took my breath away.

I stand in the wind, and feel its gentle warmth rush over my skin as it carries me back to another time, where once I was swept away in a storm of passion.

I see the soft petals of a flower, and my mind recalls images of smiles, and laughter which bloomed like roses each day we were together.

I step into the sunlight of the day, and know my soul and its longing to touch once more that which was, that which is, inside me.

After all the years and tears have passed my heart still reaches in the night for you.
